How to Use Your Logo on Your Videos

Whether it's for a tutorial video or for your YouTube channel, it's important that your videos look professional. This will help you stand out and gain views. Today, let's look at how to use your logo in your videos. Your logo remains an important element of your brand image and it must be found everywhere: on your website, business cards and even your videos!

The importance of having a flexible logo

Let's start at the beginning. When you create your logo, it needs to be flexible. In other words, you should be able to use your logo in any medium, whether on the web or in print. When you start a business, you may use different communication channels during its existence. Maybe you'll create tutorial videos or even a YouTube channel to grow your community. Therefore, keep in mind that you should create a flexible logo so that you don't have to change your logo regularly.

But what are the criteria for a flexible logo exactly? In fact, it must be relatively simple and easy to use. Avoid using too many elements or having too many details, as this interferes with reproduction of the logo. It is also recommended not to use more than three colors to keep a certain harmony. On another note, you can even have different versions of your logo as needed – for example, one black and white version, another with only the emblem. A simplified version of your logo could prove useful for your videos.

Use your logo in the thumbnail

If you want to attract attention and have views, it is essential that the thumbnail of your video is perfect. This is the image that introduces your video. It must be representative and attract attention. Whether you're starting your channel or you're already an expert on YouTube, it might be worth adding your logo, or even a simplified version, to your thumbnails. This makes it easier to recognize you and adds a touch of professionalism.

Here's an example: when you come across a video series

Netflix, you will find the red logo of the company located at the top left or right. This allows them to show that it is an official video of the channel.

Use your logo in your video intro

Also, you could use your logo in the first few seconds of your video, especially in the introduction. There are several reasons why creators use introductions on their YouTube videos. First, it allows them to quickly show who they are and what they do while showing their know-how. This is a glimpse of what is to come. The whole thing must be interesting, because creators only have a few seconds to convince visitors to listen to their content. As well, introductions also increase the duration of the video.

One channel that we find particularly interesting for their introductions is SuperCarlinBrothers.

They start their videos by asking a question or with a reflection. Then, this is followed by a small animation that presents their logo, but also their slogan. It's simple, effective and it separates the introduction from the rest of the video.

Use your logo in the video

We have also noticed that several channels use their logo directly in the video. We often find their emblem at the top or bottom right. The whole thing is quite discreet, you can use a black or white version so that it always looks good with the background. Using your logo here is mainly to remind the viewer that it is a video of a very specific channel. In addition, if you want your logo to be visible during the broadcast, you could use a simplified version of your logo. For example, if you have a combination mark logo, using only the symbol is an option.

FreeLogoDesign does not have a YouTube channel at the moment, however if we decided to create videos, we would very likely add our icon at the bottom right.

Use your logo at the end of your video

Finally, as you can probably guess, you can also use your logo at the end of your video. Remember that the more a person sees your logo, the more likely they will remember your channel. There are various ways to close a YouTube video, it's up to you to see what suits you best.

You can even use a specific template to showcase other videos in your channel. However, no matter what you decide to do, this is a great opportunity to show off your logo again.

In this regard, we find that the Watcher YouTube channel successfully adds their logo in their conclusions. In addition to their logo, their custom screen is related to the theme of the video and has suggestions for similar videos to watch.

Reminder: Create a logo for your YouTube channel

If you have a YouTube channel or plan to have one soon, you need to keep that in mind to have a perfect logo. Your logo may be present on your videos; however, it will still be there as an image that represents the channel.

There are a few rules to follow regarding YouTube channel logos. First, the image must be displayed in a circular format. Next, a resolution of 800 x 800 pixels should be used. Your YouTube channel logo should be representative and unique. We must be able to recognize your channel and your brand image easily.

Finally, as your logo can be displayed in different sizes, we suggest not using too many small details, as they could become blurry or disappear. Again, you can use a simplified version of your logo as needed.

In conclusion, as we have mentioned many times, do not be afraid to use your logo everywhere. We should see it on your social media as well as on your envelopes. Regarding videos, you can use your logo on thumbnails, in the introduction, conclusion, etc. The important thing is that you create a strong brand image that will be recognized easily. By the way, if you like video games, have you ever thought about using your logo on a Twitch channel? Continued success!
